$10 for $20 Worth of Indian Cuisine and Beverages at Indo Pak Cuisine in San Ramon

"He who controls the spice controls my universe! Wow, what a deft hand with the spice here.
A doubly fantastic friend, Rebecca H., both an Elite Yelper and my college roomie, took us here for lunch when we happened to be in the area. None of us had tried it before, but we were all craving Indian food and were willing to be adventurous with a new location. So, after quite a few turns around the block before we found it.

New, clean, with warm woods and comfortable seating, Divan started off on the right food. The host/waiter was friendly and efficient and was willing to help us order.

Since we were hungry, we had fun ordering: tandoori platter, gobi aloo, naan, lamb samosas, and so on. It was all beautifully balanced with no skimping on the spices. Most surprising of all was the tandoori salmon. Whoa. None of us had ever had tandoori salmon but we all loved it.

Top this all off with a light Indian beer and you have success."

"We love this place--live 5 minutes away and have been there 5-10 times since it opened. We mostly eat in for dinner, but have gotten takeout a few times. Tonight, I had the most wonderful lamb samosas I've ever tasted, and one of the freshest Saag Paneers as well. A trio of tandoori chicken, shrimp, and lamb was served on a sizzling platter. Always vibrant, amazing flavors. A wider-than-average beer and wine selection, too. I have never tried the lunch buffet, but dinner is always a home run.

"What a great find! Our foodie friends joined us and we all left so happy and full. The staff is pleasant and his suggestion to "order one of everything" wasn't far off. We liked everything. The spice levels were great. I ordered a tandoori plate for the table, and was about to have a fit when I cut into what I thought was chicken and saw it was pink, but it wasn't chicken, it was salmon! I've never had salmon tandoori before, it was delicious, moist and well seasoned. We liked everything we ate and it was reasonably priced for the quality of the food. This isn't a quick curry take out place, it has a nice ambiance, beer and wine, and really great food. I'll go back for a nice sit down meal.

Things to try:
lamb samosa, fried paneer, tandoori, gobi aloo, onion and cilantro naan, indian beer- light and crisp!
